Updating since I tried the meats a second time and wanted to report back. Just get the turkey, gobs of it. Honestly the best smoked turkey I've ever had. I usually judge BBQ by its ability to stand alone with no sauce. It should have a nice Smokey flavor, the outside should be seasoned but not too much and it should be nice and moist. So the turkey easily fits that. It's absolutely delicious. The chicken got second place, it can stand alone but it isn't the best smoked chicken I've had. Still worth getting if you love some smoked chicken. Unfortunately I can't recommend the brisket. I found it dry, not very flavorful, not very Smokey in flavor either. They also have a great hot BBQ sauce. It's quite spicy though, use sparingly until you're sure you can handle it. I also loved their side salad. It's one of the better side salads I've had anywhere. It had a good selection of different lettuces and greens. Also has tomatoes, cheese and black beans. The spicy ranch or whatever their house dressing is is also very good. Also, just so you know you can get a whole pickle instead of bread, and it's not a paltry little pickle. It's a large, delicious pickle
Another good BBQ place in Utah. Just went here for the first time and was impressed. One worker I saw was nice. And the food was pretty good! The brisket was hardy and delicious with the sweet BBQ sauce. I was so excited to see that they had fried funeral potatoes but sadly I didn't like them. Sorry I've had better! The fries were good and my son LOVED the Mac and cheese. My favorite part...the cornbread. I thought it was delicious. I mean I wish it came with honey butter but I'll let it slide. It's one of my favorite cornbreads. We went at around 4:30pm and sadly we were the only people ever there. I was so sad for them and how they didn't have anyone else. I hope they are doing ok with COVID.
Came in here for the first time and was immediately greeted by the employee behind the food counter. She recommended the brisket, so we each got the 1 plate meal. They were so fast at serving the meat and sides we asked for and the food was hot and fresh! The utensils and sauces were all individually wrapped and disposable and the the employees wore masks. There was a live guitarist and singer there too! Overall the food was AMAZING and the service was so fast! (I recommend the cornbread with honey butter over the garlic bread)
I didn't expect to have awesome live music when we decided to come eat here for our date night; it was an unexpected surprise! Every Friday night they have live music from 5pm-9pm. Carver Luis was the one who performed when we went and he was a good country singer. We ended up getting the 2-Meat plates. Chicken and ribs and then both briskets. I liked the Bandera Smoked Brisket the most; it had a great Smokey flavor. Their mashed potatoes had skins in them and were tasty. Their Mac and cheese was also good, kind of a velveta-y texture (if that makes sense). Their cornbread was better than their garlic toast. One of the owners; Andrew, came around and asked how we were doing and how we liked things. He was way friendly and let us know that they do smoking classes at their restaurant sometimes too, that's pretty awesome! We will definitely be back; especially on a Friday when we can get dinner and a show!
Decided to give this place a try via Grubhub which btw refers to them "Bandera BBQ" in case you search them. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Sampler platter which included 4 meats, 4 sides, and 4 bread choices. It was nice to be able to try several different options. I particularly thought all the meats we tried (brisket, Turkey, ribs, and pulled pork was delicious. My favorite side was the deep fried funeral potatoes. Holy cow those babies are fantastic. The bread choices were also fare, we enjoyed the corn bread with honey butter. The price was right and they pair with Grubhub so the fees were not crazy and my delivery person Leo was the best. He had my food saved in his isolated bag so our food arrived warm. So awesome I will be back for more of the ribs and those funeral potatoes!!!
